Hermann Steiner (1878-1963 ) wood carving. Professor Hermann Steiner worked for a number of year in the town of Meran (Merano)  in Italian Tyrol where he was also known as ‘Ermanno’. He was awarded a gold medal at the St Louis exhibition in 1904.  The plaque, 25cms by 28.5cms is untitled but signed on the bottom right side. Made of fruit (pear ?) wood it has a couple of little faults. One over the left hand and one over the left head. Circ 1920’s, it is inscribed  reverse.
