Schuco “Yes/No” Teddy Bear
This charming vintage Schuco teddy bear, ‘Tricky’, affectionately known as the “Yes/No” bear, dates from the post–Second World War period and was produced in the US Zone of Germany.
He is made from golden mohair plush and features warm brown glass eyes, a clipped muzzle, and hand-stitched black detailing to the nose, mouth, and claws. A distinctive feature of this bear is the internal mechanism connected from his tail to his swivel neck, allowing his head to move in a “yes” or “no” motion. (Please note, the growler is no longer in working order.)
The bear measures approximately 32 cm in height and 20 cm in width. He remains in original condition, showing signs of gentle play consistent with age. Importantly, he still retains his original red Schuco chest label/plaque.
A delightful and characterful example, perfect for collectors of vintage or mechanical teddy bears.
